: This is Gordy and his wife who gave me a ride back to Testa River Lodge to find my phone still plugged in where I left it on the coffee bar. The are the park facilitators.

: Another Bicycle fellow did not get his name. He is riding from Fairbanks to KeyWest Florida, I think. In any case his web site is Goodnews.org and he is sponsered and rides from motel to motel.

: yep the down hill has started – Michael saw the Stone Sheep on the far slope. I was going too fast to take my water eyes off the road, in the rain.

: Micheal likes the down hill when I finally catch up to him. It is raining a little and that is OK.

: and then we are off down the mountain once again. What fun.

: My first live Moose is in the middle of the road licking something He did move off but not because of me.

: Muncho Lake is where we are headed for today – The park boundry is pretty far from the Lake.

: at the botton of the hills are the rivers Raining off and on most of the so we are keeping rain gear on and the temps are pretty chilly.

: Morning at the Tetsa Provincal park – 20bucks meet a most interesting college professor from New Hampshire his web site is da da da lifegoes on google search. really enjoyed the evening conversation.

: yea He made and has Michael loaded up and heading out – could only fit on bike at a time. Michael is really happy for the ride and so am I.

: The Ice Trike is loaded up and the Drivers wife Dawn who works on the crew came up and road with us.

: Snow on the other side of a creek next to the road. Michael wants to go get some and play in it. I have realized I left my cell phone at the last stop Testa River Lodge and want to press on to Summit Lake. The camp host gives me a ride back to the lodge, where the phone is still sitting on the counter charging, and it is a full charge.

: We were wondering why they called this Mountain Stone Mountain now we know, nothig but rock.

: Summit lake 4200 feet elevation is highest point on the AlCan Highway Ft Nelson the lowest just a few days ago – Today is another full of good people and interesting events.

12-06-28 Thursday 130 days 66 km 46 miles Meeting more Bicyclists heading south good day for riding

: Once again the food bag in the tree worked – no bears woke us up and we still have food in the morning. I left the millions of mosquetoes on guard in the grass getting into and out of that spot.

: I bet we have walked up 20% of the road on just the hill great excercise for the low back, and legs. A little slow on the mileage chart.

: Michael getting water out of a pretty good small stream – clear water and we filter it through a really fine filter grey bag into Blue bag, Tastes pretty good too.

: Did try some gold panning – nothing since the first time at Barkerville park

: Meet up with Andy who is riding from Terria Del Fuego Argentina to Prudue Bay Alaska to set a speed record he has been riding for 102 days. The RV on the road is his Support team, Mom, Dad and a friend – Great motivator.

: Michael Thought he would climb up the side to get a drink of spring water coming out of the rocks – He says it was good. Too much work for this tired old grandpa.

: We are going up and looking back really tells the story. The views are majestic and you really get a sense of acomplishment when you are on the up hill

: After climbing up most of the evening we hit 15km of road construction all gravel and in the rain. Flagged down the water truck who suggested a Testa Camp ground for the night and a ride to the end of the construction in the Morning.

12-06-27 Wednesday 129 days 74 km 46 miles What? just another day strolling up hill and racing down hill – where are the pictures?

To day was a long one and have no idea why there are no pictures – some days are more mundane than others and we just pedal. It may be that we are just like everyone else who soon become jaded to normal – Like those who don’t seem to visit the points of interest just around their own homes. Even us who are seeing fantastic vistas and up close nature every few hours. Time to reset our perspective.

12-06-26 Tuesday 128 days 76 km 47 miles Great day for wildlife finally get to see a bear up close and do some lake fishing

: Morning breakfast in bed for michael – chocolate oat meal and hot chocolat. What a life.

: Michael had ridden past the Black Bear on the side of the road – Jon Marec from France who had stopped to take pictures of the bear and 3 cubs

: then the bear crossed the road to Michael’s side

: Michael fishing for lunch or dinner – OOPs none today – nice calm rest though

12-06-25 Monday 128 days 70 km 43 miles Just rolling along look for Blue Fish signs – good miles day.

: Morning in the campsite at a wide pull out along the road – A van with a couple from Europe with hitchike from Banniff, Canada tent camped out here as well.

: Now which tree did I hang the food bag from last night – While looking for it I came across and huge pile of bear scat(poop) with foot prints larger than my spread out hand. The food was still there

: A truck driver at the Pink Mountain store told up about he stocked fishing ponds along the highway – Michael is trying out one during a rest break.

: The blue fish sign is the marker that there is a pond for fishing behind the trees.

Asking for donations to help defray expenses for Canada to Fairbanks, Alaska.

Papa Mike Fox and his 14 yr old grandson Michael Pruiett are riding bicycles to Fairbanks, Alaska from the USA/Canada border. They are currently traveling up the Alaska Highway and have gone over 1,100 miles and are 500 miles up the Alaska Highway. The remoteness and prices for supplies as well as rain incurred lodgeing have exceeded the budget. Any donations to help defray expenses will be appreciated – a hamburger for Michael up here is $15.00 drink extra. Today buying supplies for the Whitehorse, Yukon Territories came to over $200 and most was Ramon Noodles and peanut butter and Jelly.

All contributions from family and friends over journey expenses for food, Lodging and equipment maintenance will be donated to local churchs and charities along the way.

This journey is an epic event for both my Grandson Michael Pruiett and is Grandfather Michael Fox.
And I hope an event for all my friends and family to demonstrate that just starting and trusting is all it takes for the journey.
Everyday Michael and I meet people along the way who enjoy our journey with us and provide encouragement and support of many kinds.
There are a lot more good people than not.

12-06-14 thursday 119 days It’s a rain day in Clinton, BC – Great bit of history at the Museum and a discount at the motel.

: Had to take another rain day – spent today trying to get a jump up ride by greyhound bus – too much to ship bikes – tried Uhaul to Prince George, bc way too much. The hotel owner and his wife are great.

: Waked to the a really cool local museum in the rain. It is Considered the jewel museum in BC. Learned the Sage brush was brought up with the cattle by the largest Spanish Rancher in the 1830s from Mexico.. Makes sense since I have seen the same type of sage brush from Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and now British Columbia, Canada – the Ranch name was the San Juan.

12-06-13 Wednesday 119 days 55 Klicks and 31 miles – out of the sagebrush in to the pines and Clinton, BC.

: Morning is just interrmintent showers, rained most of the night – the tarp worked well. My tent ended up in a pool of water. Oh well learning is a continuous process.

: some more up on the way to the Hat Creek Ranch there is Michael looking for treasure along the side of the road. Ford emblems, bungee cords, car keys, etc.

: Looking back down the Thompson River valley – once again what looked like an all day event was only a couple of hours.

: A train running along the river, they have the best routes and they were here first.

: Hat creek Ranch stop and the sun came out for us.

: Into Clinton, BC – made it up 6 mile grade and the good 10 km down hill. There is a bit of confusion on the distance the history is Miles the current is Kilometers – so towns named 100 Mile house is at highway marker 160K. the conversion is .62 Kilometer per mile. Yes we are staying confused as well.

12-06-12 Tuesday 118 Days 50 Kilometers 30 miles The ride down and out of Kamloops and a great down hill and up hill more rain also.

: Resupply and breakfast at Costco Kamloops before heading out – Cliff Bars and Nature Valley bars stocked up away we go up the hill.

: We are having fun when the rain lets up. It is all a matter perspective.

: This graffitti caught Michael’s eyel, he was racing along with trains near the highway at about 35kmh.

: This sign means to watch out for garbage trucks ahead – Nice they pick up the trash around here, also lets us know we are coming into a community of some size.

: even though it has rained everyday this is considered the desert climate for Canada. These little cactus stay low to the ground so you can step on them easier and sleep with them.

: Set up the tarp just before the downpour for the night started. Michael slept rolled in his sleeping bag and tarp.
