after hanging out at Gold Beach deciding which way to go I decided to stay and go to church Sunday Morning These 1930s era cabins are cheap and really neat inside.

Comes with a kitchen, bath and bedroom nice and clean from a different time.

Watched the sun set for seemingly 30 min. Overwhelming grandure with a promise of more tomorrow.

12-09-21 Friday 172 Days riding- 37 miles – Now Today was a good day rolling along, Good folks, campfire and Marshmallows.

Finally found some blueberries to pick – still cheaper than the store. Have not found the wild ones yet

darn the lights aren’t flashing for a good tail wind.

The moon over Humbug Mountain Camp – Great campfire, with marshmellows with Dave and Mary and another travel couple from the last few days. Good conversations leaning stuff.

12-09-20 Thursday 171 Days riding- 44.5 miles – Rested and rolling,and then The SEVEN DEVILS.

This ought to be a really good bridge to cross. The design and colors are great.

The train bridge across the going into North Bend. Oregon.

The side walk is closed – so I am in the car lane – no problems here.

I wonder if a eventually the roof will have too much weight on it.

Rolling along the other side of Coos Bay.

The name of this road is very much on target. It was one tough grade after the other and at the end of a good 44 mile day.

The hiker Biker camp at Bullard Beach – this place is full. Lots of conversations, discussion, and ideas and opions bantered about. No Racoons though.

12-09-19 Wednesday 170 Days riding- 6 miles – The Raccoon had worn me out I just went to next Campground to recoup.

leaving the Umpqua Lighthouse and the Racoons.- I am beat and keep tasting pepper spray every time I lick my lip.

Tugman State Park a short 6 miles away – only me in the hiiker biker section. road into town to wash cloths, had really great hot shower a restfull night – no varmets here

12-09-18 Tuesday 169 Days riding- 32 miles A tour of a cool Light house Museum and Attack of the Raccoon.

The Sand Dunes of the Oregon coast are legendary and moving in land.

A view back Hwy 101 takes us away from the sand and waters edge along here.

Every once in awhile a logging truck goes by. I always wave at em coming back – so they may be looking for me when they have a load. besides they wave back and honk their horns. Besides all the extra paperwork for running over me, you wouldn’t want to hit some one who waved at you a couple of hours ago.

The Umpqua Light house and Lifesaveing rescue station. Really cool museum. Meet up with Dave and Mary from last nights camp. They are from Vermont and came out to ride down the Oregon coast. Dave and Mary a only a little younger than me, unlike all the other kids in their 20s and 30s.

PS Bear spray works, and I don’t recommend it unless you have a good stiff breeze behind you. A calm day or night is not good, the stuff drifts around. One of bandits took a half full jar of peanut butter off the table and a couple of them ate all the blackberries out of the pot. The next camp did none better, a raccoon unzipped his pannier and took all his food out of hit. Counting shining eyes there were at least 6 of em. Oh yea after the other camp a little down wind stopped coughing and whining, The raccoons were gone for the rest of the night.

12-09-17 Monday 168 Days riding- 34 miles Honeyman campground

I like the direction of this flag growth tree the wind is mostly behind me.

I really like this rugged coast line. so different from the Gulf of Mexico and Florida coasts.

In the tunnel – not much shoulder, there is a button to push that flashes a light, so bicycle riders with feel safer. I think I am going to sell some for people to put in their pockets

Just a point of reference to really beautiful area.

Leaving Honeyman Camp – really cool place and lots of Hiker Biker folks.

Sure enough a little closer to the edge and a zoom lens you can see them.

The view that is seen from 5mph are worth the speed.

There is ocean front property available. this might have unusual building chanllenges.

There many many of these cool bridges, some we don’t get to see because of the lay of the road.

this is the couple from Switzerland leaving in morning from Honeyman Park – They said they are always joking about all the keep out and warning signs in America they see.

This piece of wood stuck in the rocks really stumped me for a few minutes until I got this closeup shot.
