- Heading out toward Hains Junction Michaels in the lead
- It a long long ways away
- Waiting up for Papamike Joe, Emma and Michael –
- The road is pretty rough where the construction is
- The view out to the side is beautiful and takes your mind off the road.
- The sweep of vista is cool
- and then the road surface bounces you back to the near and now.
- But not for long and our minds wander off to the distance
- I am not sure how this happened I am in front of Joe and Michael
- Michael looking ahead after passing me.
- The coolest thing at our lunch stop was getting to use an Antalla throwing stick and spear – I was really suprised how far and accurate you could be with one.
- Of course Joe and Michael immediatly launched into a competion Michael stayed ahead for the longest throw for most of the time.
- We toured some of the ancient building exhibits like this bark shelter.
- Kinda neat how the peeled the park off the trees and used for wall covering on the exterior.
- On the bypass that Marc and Marty suggested we came across this Indian village replica and had lunch
- This is an old down hill sign –
- Coming to the Champagn city on the bypass – really good idea to ride this section and miss the new chipseal and construction on the Highway.
- the view off into where we are going
- Getting toward evening again our goal is ahead
- Meet Corie and Portia from Fairbanks, Ak thery are riding to Hains for the ferry and then Skagway and Dawson for a music festiville.
- Great place to camp near this old log bridge The water is really running high.
- this bridge was used by the Army as part of Alaska highway
- Climbed up the ridge for a better view – what a reward of the distant mountain surrounding us.
- a close up of one of the peaks – it is like a calendar picture
