12-03-05 Monday 71 days – Great Day again 2nd in a row out of Texas

: Well so much for the horses thinking I look like one of them – These must think I look like them – running along the fence line at the feedlots.

: Thought the wind shifted during the night, camped in the field across from this feedlot, could smell the results this morning before I saw them.

: another water tower and another city.

: the football stadium signs equal with the post office

: At every county line you can expect the grade of chip seal to change – some is actually smoothed out like cement. – this section is not.

: Yes this is North Texas – see the dust blowing

: Made another good day even with a side wind – 47 miles and into New Mexico

: Great spot for a camp – good thing the wind died down – the sand is covering grass and most of cement.

12-03-04 Sunday 70 Days and on the Road Again.

: All roads out of lubbock are flat and wide -and a little south wind pushing me north west.

: Each of the towns can been seen miles away and the names are on the Water towers. Shallowater.

: The wind is blowing in the right direction –

: Everyday something special happens – not far from the last photo in the middle of nothing – this pretty young woman stops in front of me and gives me a cold bottle of water. Angels are everywhere.

: Texas – Trains, reststops and wind

: You know your in Texas when every town has a great foot ball stadium – When I got to help coach at Christ the King School we played football at most of these small schools, and I drove the school bus to many more of the basketball games

Julie, Raven and I went to Church at Christ the King in Lubbock, where her and John had been baptized. It is a cathedral today, and we had moved away before they could remember much.

I headed out 19th ave to Frankfort ave and to the Clovis Highway – Rolling down the highway again.

12-03-03 Saturday 69 days – Free ride to Lubbock Texas.

The Extra days spent with Julie, Dale, Raven and Scott and the boys is being made up with a car ride to Lubbock, Tx. Julie and Raven and I are going to visit Raven’s half sister and my grand niece Hallie. The hard part of this section was getting the trike in the trunk of the Honda with all the other stuff. Next stop Albuquerque, NM to John and Shay and 4 grandchildren Gabe, Belle, Gracelyn, and Norajane.

: Getting the trike into the truck was not that difficult. Yes we are moving ahead about 335miles to Lubbock today. Works out to be about 8 days of travel. So I can get to John and Shays in Albuquerque, NM for a visit the my son and 4 more Grandchildren.

: Leaving Julie place – it’s a 90 year old 2 bedroom house. Really kinda neat.

: Here we are in Lubbock with Julie, Raven and her sister Haley. The wind is supposed to change tomorrow and be out of the south.

12-2-24 Friday thru 12-03-02 Friday days 61-68 – 2000+ miles

The week off in Leonard was much needed to clean up the trike, change out 2 tires, the rear and the left side. Repacked up everything, dropping those items that I had not used in the past 2 months. Some stuff left, Cloths items, extra socks, pants, spare camelpack insert. Had to repair a hole in the Radical bags that was worn by rubbing on the pavement for day.

I had forwarded the mail to Julie’s address and did the taxes, and CEUs to keep my Texas Insurance Adjuster license.

Michael and I got to add some shoes and odometer to his Recumbent Bicycle and talk about getting in shape. The plan is for him to join me in Idaho when school is out this summer and ride thru Canada to Fairbanks, Alaska.

Chuck Vibber a friend, who works at Hair Central in Leonard, is from Canada and gave me some good tips for a route to Prince George and beyond.

We all had a great seafood buffet at Lea’s Restaurant. My daughter Lisa was able to join us with Michael and Anthony.

: Wonderful rest day at the ballpark – Granddaughter Raven picking up a hit ball.

: Still resting at Julie’s house – filed my taxes, completed the CEUs for Insurance Adjuster License, filed for Social Security, The wonders of the computer age.

: Grandson Michael Pruiett on his recombant – The plan is for him to join me in Idaho after school this summer and go to Fairbanks, Ak together.

: If you want to feel smaller and lighter stand next to your 14yr old 6ft 2in 230lb grandson – perhaps a little older also. He is going to pull the wagon with the food supplies on the ride this summer.

: St. William the Confessor Church in Greenville, Tx. a really wonderful community and Father Paul is great.

12-2-23 Thursday 60 days Resting and doing to do’s in Leonard, Tx

: The Lunch bunch group at Leonard Elementary with Granddaughter Raven. These kids are always hams for the camera. Good times.

: Hanging out at Julie and Dales – Raven and her friend with Grandson Anthony. Visiting is always a good feeling for them and for me. Scott lives just a few blocks away and spending time with him as well.

12-2-22 Wednesday 59 days – Ash Wednesday and New best mileage

: Trying for Quinlin, tx by 2pm and Ash Wednesday service. Highway 34 has a wide shoulder, (it’s still chip seal) and the wind is picking up.

: Made it 40 miles for 2pm service – the wind and the Lord at my back. I am always surprised when these happen

: Now to shoot for meeting Julie at the quick mart near Thompson’s RTC.

: What do you know 50 miles and here is my daughter Julie looking good. I gave her a call and she came right over. Looking forward to a little rest and visiting with the Grand kids.

: unloaded the trike into the car and headed out to meet Scott, who is bringing Michael and his bike to ride some more into greenville. Grandson Michael and I added another 16 miles onto the day. Darkness and Papamike out of gas got us a ride to Scott’s house.
