- Just west of Datil, NM – really wonderful night – rode into the dark and the stars and quite are were perfound. This is the mountain high quite, high excercise and peaceful feelings God is in Heaven and Earth.
- Made to the contentail divide – It’s down hill from here to the Pacific Ocean, and Springerville, az.
- Pie Town, NM – really good place to stop for lunch and pie. I had pear ginger alamode, I love this part of the adventure. Great conversations with good folks – particularly a truck driver from Muleshoe, Tx. He was originally from Belize in South America.
- It’s been too long since I have seen one of my favorites signs. –
- Quemado, NM a mission church of St. Peter in springerville. Father Kinglsey says Mass here on Saturdays.
- It is 6 thrity PM and I want to make it to Springerville by tomorrow night, which is 58 miles ahead – heading for more miles.
- the view back to Quemado. It has been all up hill and I am out of gas – walking much of the way and dragging the ICE wagon. Surprising how the altitude tires me more. Then again when I left all I could all day was 20 miles and now I am doing 45 and 48 miles – I guess I am in better shape and weigh less.
