12-02-02 Thursday 39 days- leaving San Antonio and into German City New Braunfels

leaving San Antonio overcast and freeways service road on 1604 loop.

After a month of riding out of the big cities This was new again. Already wish I was out in the rural areas again. Oh Well The 1604 Loop service road is good shoulder, even with the stop lights.

After about 10 miles of 1604 loop, as I slowing to a stop at a light, a young woman runs from a parking lot over to me and hands me some folded Money, she asks what am I riding for and I tell her to get where I am going. She then says “God told her to give me some Money”, I tried to refuse and then took it. I have learned that God does do stuff just like that either for me, for her or someone else, down the road, maybe even for you reading this. I did buy lunch and donated the rest to the Gabriel project for young women, who are pregnant.

Sts Peter and Paul Church New Braunfels, tx - beautiful old church and school -

The School has been around for over 130 years, one of the missions of the Catholic Church, besides Hospitals and other charitable works with out regard to a persons faith.

History of the Church from the German emigrants

The Comal River in New Braunfels - did some River rafting down this with the kids. long ago. Camp at the RV park right on the river and 3 blocks from the Church. And Uh 100 ft from the train tracks.

There is a train crossing just ahead from where the train passed my tent so the Horn was blown – The first time I nearly came out of the tent. After that I just woke up for the min or two.
